# Together -Well Done Meghan

Meghan Markle became a member of the British Royal family earlier this year when she married Prince Harry.  To her credit she has not just become a princess who enjoys being photographed and having her fashion choices admired.  She has wasted no time making her position count for the good.  You may remember in June of last year there was a devastating fire in London in a very large apartment complex called Grenfell.  Over 70 people perished and hundreds were displaced in the largest residential fire in Britain since WWII.

But as is so often the case, something very, very good has come from that terrible incident.  The women of Grenfell, who have mostly been living in hotels since the fire, started coming together to cook 2 days a week for their families and friends in a community kitchen.  Besides the other obvious tangible things they had all lost when those apartments burned down, these women had lost their ability to cook and nurture their friends and families with the foods they loved to cook for them.

So The Hubb Community Kitchen came “together” and allowed something beautiful to “rise from the ashes” of that terrible fire.  Not only was nutritious and delicious food produced, but a community of loving and sharing with each other arose too.   It is a place to laugh and cry and talk and share their lives with each other as they cook and share their recipes and foods from their unique backgrounds.

The word “hubb” means love in Arabic, and as one woman says it, that is what they all share in that kitchen, love.  Last January as Meghan was settling in London and making it her new home, she came across these women and their story.  Upon learning what they were doing and hearing that they were coming together 2 days a week to cook, she wondered why it wasn’t 7 days since they needed to feed their families everyday.  The answer was “funding”.  They only could afford to use the kitchen 2 days a week.  She was drawn to help them.  And what came out of her involvement was something bigger and better than any of them could have imagined.

The cookbook that has come as a result of this project will bless you and bless those ladies who are recovering from losing everything in their homes.  Meghan has written the forward of the book.  Here is brief glimpse of that foreward:

The cookbook, Together,  will be available September 25th at all bookstores and is available on Amazon.com now for pre-sale.  For her willingness to use her place of influence for the good, we say to Meghan Markle, HRH The Duchess of Sussex,
“Well Done!”

With the holidays coming faster than any of us cares to think, this cookbook might be a wonderful gift for someone you know, or maybe a gift you give to yourself and help others in the process.  Buying this book is more than buying printed recipes bound together.  It is opportunity to be blessed while being a blessing.  It is the chance to spread love, joy and abundant living to people you will never know or meet, but with whom you still have so much in common. And that, we think, makes the world, and the future, a brighter, better place 🙂
