Cutting The Cake Gets Better!

th

Certainly, the traditional way to cut a round cake is to vaguely find the center and cut triangles from that point.

BUT, we recently heard about this wonderful way.

  1.     Cut your cake into quarters.
  2.     At your center line, cut another line along that center line, making rectangle pieces ready to eat.
  3.     Once you have finished serving all of your guests, push the two sides together so that no air gets to the cake and….
  4.     ….tomorrow, you will have a still-fresh cake!  Yum!  More joy!

A most splendid idea, Robin. They often serve cake in rectangle slices like that at weddings and other events with many guests.

Great idea. I also saw another way to keep a standard cut cake from drying out. Place pieces of bread against the cut edges.
