Blueberry Cream Cheese Galette

This is a very versatile item to make. It can be a weekend breakfast/brunch pastry, a tea time treat, or a lovely dessert.

If blueberries aren’t your favorite fruit, you can simply substitute a fruit you love. A really good choice would be to try raspberries, or peaches or apricots, all pair well with the cream cheese filling. Simple to make and really yummy to eat, we think you should definitely give this quick and simple pastry a try!

Blueberry Cream Cheese Galette

1 pie crust
8 oz. cream cheese at room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-11/2 cups berries or sliced fruit
beaten egg
powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Next beat together cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth and sugar is incorporated. Prepare pie crust dough or use store bought pie crust dough. Roll out dough to a 12″-14″ round on parchment paper. Spread cream cheese leaving about a 2″ border of dough.

Add berries or fruit on top of cream cheese mixture. Next turn border of dough just over the edge of berries.

Brush the top of the galette with beaten egg. Place parchment paper on a baking sheet and bake in a 375 degree oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool and sprinkle liberally with powdered sugar. Make some tea or coffee, slice your galette into wedges and enjoy!
