A Twist On A Favorite


If there is one dessert that we have requests for again and again and again at events from birthdays to holidays it would have to be  a Strawberry Meringue.  This Strawberry Lemon Meringue, is a variation of that favorite dessert.  The meringues pictured above were made as individual portions and then filled with lemon curd and topped with a whole strawberry.  The meringue was placed in a pastry bag with a tip that has a wide opening, and piped in circles in parchment paper.  They were then cooked as the recipe instructs.  You could just as easily make the meringue as a pie shell, as in the Strawberry Meringue recipe, filled with lemon curd and topped with several whole strawberries or cut up berries and one whole one in the center.

These are light, crunchy, sweet, tart, and absolutely delicious.  And as a bonus, both recipes, the original Strawberry Meringue, and this Strawberry Lemon Meringue, are gluten free 🙂  Bon Appetit!
