Pretty Feet

You might be thinking that your Two Chums, or at least this Chum, has a foot fetish.  We have mentioned ways to help your feet look better several times in the last several weeks.  Here is one more…so now you can be sure I have a foot fetish 🙂
I love to go bare footed, especially in the summertime.  But not wearing shoes can leave your feet dry and even cracked and looking rough if you aren’t careful.  I love not wearing shoes around the house but I hate having dry, rough, scaly feet so I am always willing to try any new ‘gismo’ or treatment that I hear about.  Some work, relatively well, at least for a while.  But if you walk around without shoes long enough you are eventually going to have to come up with a regime of foot care to have soft “pretty feet”.  I think I have found a good one and I want to share it with you.

A few weeks ago we shared with you some secrets to eliminating cracked heals.  Click on this link and read it all if you haven’t already.  But Step 1 in this foot regime is using Stridex everyday for a week to eliminate major cracks.

In a Savvy Secrets post there was the suggestion to soak your feet in a solution of vinegar and warm water to soften and help remove dead skin….this is Step 2.  Click on the link to get the proportions of vinegar and water.

Now for Step 3.  It involves the Pedispin that you see pictured at the top of this post.  My daughter, Carrie came across this miracle worker at Bed Bath and Beyond.  If you have dry, cracked, and/or scaly feet, run, don’t walk to Bed Bath and Beyond and get one of these!

Basically, it is a battery operated foot file.  There are different heads that fit onto the main shaft of this device and resurfacing tool.  There is the main attachment that circulates, (or spins as in Pedispin) and files off the dead skin and eliminates cracks.
You simply run it back and forth over the surface of your foot wherever you have dry skin and calluses and it files them down easily and painlessly.
Then you change the attachment to the sanding file and do the same thing again.  This smoothes out any remaining rough spots and leaves your feet soft and really smooth.
Lastly is Step 4.  Apply moisturizer or rosewater and glycerine and wait until morning to see the remarkable softening effects.

So here’s to love, joy, abundant living …AND Pretty Feet 🙂
