When you choose to forgive, you release yourself, (not just the one who hurt you), from carrying around the pain of being hurt and the bitterness that unforgiveness inevitably develops into when it is allowed to fester. Forgiving makes going off to sleep that much easier when you aren’t taking the burden of unforgiveness to bed with you.

Praying for those who need it reminds us that we are not alone in our humanness and the struggles of life. Everyone you know is fighting some kind of battle in his or her life and offering up a prayer for their strength and comfort as they go through difficulty is a simple and powerful kindness too often neglected.When you think there is nothing you can do to help someone in need, remember you can always pray.
