The Princess Bride

In what could easily fulfill that famous wedding rhyme that begins “something old, something new” Princess Beatrice was married to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi Friday morning at The Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor, wearing one of her grandmother’s dresses and her wedding tiara.

According to the British publication HELLO magazine:

The happy couple said ‘I do’ in front of a small number of close family and friends, including the Queen and Prince Philip, who were featured in one of the official wedding pictures released on Saturday, and taken by photographer Benjamin Wheeler.

The ceremony took place at 11am, and was followed by a low-key reception. According to The Sun, the celebration was held outside the property, complying with social distancing rules, and it featured a marquee named ‘The Duke of York’ which was filled with sofas, a jukebox, draft beer and a dartboard.

They also offered guests speciality cocktails and bespoke catering. The bride and groom had clearly thought of everything and even hired a bouncy castle which was no doubt enjoyed by Edoardo’s four-year-old son Wolfie.

Princess Beatrice, wore several items on loan from her grandmother, the Queen, for her big day, including a vintage, diamante-encrusted ivory dress by Norman Hartnell, which was remodeled and refitted. Norman Hartnell also had designed the Queen’s own wedding dress.

The princess also chose to wear a diamond fringe tiara, which was loaned to her by Queen Elizabeth, and had been worn by the monarch herself on her own wedding day. The tiara was originally made in 1919 from a diamond necklace given by Queen Victoria.

We find it very touching that Beatrice wanted to honor her grandmother by wearing her tiara and one of her most iconic and favorite dresses. Apparently, they have a very close bond.

Though it was small in size this celebration was large in love. The Princess’s smile says it all! Your Two Chums couldn’t be happier for the Princess and Edoardo and we wish them so much joy and many blessings as they begin their life together.
