Teddies, You Say?

On Tuesday, Yahoo Lifestyle reported that Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, visited the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom in Parliament Square to celebrate its 10th anniversary. But the political milestone wasn’t all there was to get excited about.

President of the Supreme Court, Lady Brenda Hale, gifted the next-in-line to the British throne with a bevy of teddy bears and his reaction was that of sheer, unadulterated joy.  When he first gazed upon his new teddies, it almost seemed like he couldn’t believe his luck (or he was confused why he, a grown man, was receiving four teddy bears as a gift).

Well, it turns out the teddy bears actually aren’t for Prince Charles.  Lady Hale gave them to him to pass along to his grandchildren. There’s one for Prince George (5), Princess Charlotte (3), Prince Louis (9 months) and even Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s first child, who’s expected to arrive in late April.

Nonetheless, Charles seemed completely enthused by the bears (and their fluffiness).

There was another aspect of this collection of teddy bears that caught our eye, however.  Two bears are wearing dark blue sweaters (presumably for the boys) and two have white ones on.  Since Prince William and Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, have two boys and one girl, could this mean the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are having a girl?  Perhaps!

The verdict is still out on baby Sussex’s gender, but we do know one thing for sure: If you ever get the chance to meet Prince Charles, bring teddy bears and you’ll become life-long friends.

So, to all of you out there who love your teddies, you are in wonderful, regal company!
