Staying Childlike

“Never lose your ability to be awed”….that was the caption on an ad Jackie and I saw recently.  It sparked a conversation between us about staying childlike in our approach to each day.

Recently Randy and I had the chance to take our three oldest grandchildren, Jeremy, Sadie and Savannah on a short plane trip for a little mini vacation.  Seeing their little faces as we arrived a the airport and then boarded the plane was a sweet reminder of just what we are discussing today….staying childlike.  We can so easily walk through our days and miss all the wonder around us.

No matter what is before you, remember to take time to look at it with the eyes of a child.  Ordinary things may seem amazing and frustrating challenging things may be seen in a way that allows you to know that you can overcome anything.  When you approach life in this childlike way with true amazement, wonder and awe and a feeling that you can do anything, the world opens up to you and life is far more full of love, joy and abundant living!

Jackie and Robin: I fully understand what you are talking about when you say “childlike”. After the last few years I know I can do anything life requires of me. Now I sit on my back deck under an incredibly blue sky and wonder at the colour that has been created in the world . The green trees outlined by the sky are stunning. The white clouds look like they would be heavenly to sink into with a good book. The absurd things that occur each day that just make you giggle, sometimes at the most inopportune time. These things should bring a smile to your face and, as the song says, a song in your heart. If you really look at the world around you and appreciate everything you will realize that we require very little to have joy, love and abundant living.

Oh, what you a view you have, Sheilia! And with amazing “childlikeness you view it! That blue sky, those white puffy clouds and the wonderful green variations of the trees make one so grateful!
      Much love to you.
