Keep Calm and Carry On

What an amazing motto!  Your Two Chums try to follow it constantly!

During the Second World War in England, when things were tough, really tough, the temporary Ministry of Information came up with a series of three posters.  The first poster was, “Your Courage, Your Cheerfulness, Your Resolution Will Bring Us Victory”, the second,”Freedom Is In Peril.  Defend It With All Your Might” , and the third and last, “Keep Calm and Carry On”.  They were intended to be used to strengthen morale in the case of invasion.  The Crown’s placement at the top was letting the people know that these words were coming from their King to his people – that he was supporting them during this very trying time.  Mind you, it was also pointing out that each individual person had a part to play in order for the country to, once again, see light.

These posters, nonetheless, got very limited release and ended up in storage, later being destroyed.

It was not until 2000 that someone found one of the Keep Calm and Carry On posters and placed it in their bookshop in England that this slogan became known and very popular.  It is amazing how very popular it has become in twelve years.  One tends to see it everywhere.  You can buy tons of different objects with this slogan written on it.  I have a tea mug that I love to have my tea from which reminds me to keep calm…..and carry on.  I also have the poster framed and on the wall to jog my memory!  Your Two Chums love this slogan and use it all the time.

These amazing athletes who we have been watching for the past few days make their sport look so easy but, of course, to reach such heights in any endeavour, one has certainly been challenged at many turns.  We feel sure that Keep Calm and Carry On has been the slogan of many of them!

Keep calm and carry on injecting the joy, embracing the love and thus seeing abundance in life!

Great advice! It is certainly funny how these sorts of things have a second life, and in fact take on a life of their own.
