Happy Birthday, Catherine!

I came across this wonderful book, A Year In The Life of a Duchess, Catherine HRH*, The Duchess of Cambridge, and how on earth could I resist?!

What little girl hasn’t dreamed of being a princess?  All those pretty party dresses and tiaras?  All those pretty high heels and diamond rings?   And, of course, the handsome Prince and “happily ever after”?

For one little girl, in the middle of England, the dream came true.  Catherine Elizabeth Middleton became Catherine, HRH, The Duchess of Cambridge when she married Prince William in April of 2011.

Although born a commoner, Catherine has proven herself to be just as regal as The Royals. True, training she has had since her marriage, but there seems to be an innate graciousness and elegance about her that not everyone, royal, or otherwise, exudes.  William chose well.

Yes, it has been quite a year and Catherine has not put foot wrong….in fact, she has set the bar very high, even though, at times, we feel sure it was very difficult.  It has to be absolutely smothering to think that every little step you take will be photographed and scrutinized.   In fact, the only reason the world heard of Catherine’s pregnancy as early as it did was because Catherine and William felt that it would be very difficult to keep “under the radar” with her having to be hospitalized.

We now await the arrival of the next generation of The Royals.  How very fortunate this little one is to look forward to having Catherine and William as his or her Mummy and Daddy.

Today, we celebrate England’s future Queen Catherine on her birthday.  Apparently, it will be spent “very quietly”, perhaps at her parents’ home in Bucklebury.

Along with the rest of her admirers we say “HappyBirthday, Catherine!  Many happy returns!  We wish you much love, great joy and truly abundant living!”
