Coffee Anyone?

Coffee Ice CreamIt isn’t just good hot or iced.  It is perfectly delicious frozen too.  And this method is so simple you’ll be enjoying it any time you want!  They say that coffee is addictive.  This form of coffee certainly is. Once you’ve had this coffee ice cream you’ll be hooked! This recipe, which is really more of a method than a recipe, just couldn’t be more simple.  We first heard of it from the famed British chef, Nigella Lawson, but apparently there are  number of sources that claim to have started it.

Easy Coffee Ice Cream
1 pint heavy cream
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons instant espresso powder
1 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
1 cup half and half (optional)

Add all the ingredients together and freeze in your ice cream freezer and freeze as you normally would.  We added the vanilla and half and half, they were not a part of the original recipe.  We think it is especially rich so we like the addition of the half and half to cut the richness, so might try it without the half and half first to see what you think.  We added the vanilla because we think vanilla makes everything taste better:-)

We think it doesn’t really matter who came up with this idea, we are just glad they did!
