Brie - cover photo

If your mouth isn’t watering already, it will be once you taste this!

OK ask yourself this question “How fast can I make the most delicious appetizer any cheese lover could want?”  Answer: REALLY fast 🙂

This ultimate cheese lovers’ dish is brie wrapped in puff pastry and then, once baked, it is drizzled (or drenched, your choice) in a mixture of warm butter, honey, garlic and walnuts and topped with chopped parsley.  Grab your keys and head to the store because you don’t want to wait another minute before trying this delicious-ness!

Brie Baked In Puff Pastry

Puff pastry – if using frozen puff pastry you will need 1 sheet, thawed
4 oz. wedges of Brie with rind removed
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup butter
3 T honey
1 1/2 t. minced garlic
2 T chopped walnuts
1 T chopped fresh parsley

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Roll out puff pastry sheet on lightly floured surface to form a 12″ square. Cut diagonally thru pastry sheet to form 2 triangles. Place Brie wedge in center of one triangle, with tip of cheese facing toward 90-degree angle of triangle. (Keep the other piece for your next baked brie…which might well be immediately 🙂 ) Pull up and fold puff pastry loosely to enclose cheese. Pinch edges to seal.

Transfer pastry wrapped sheet, seam side up, to baking sheet. Brush pastry with egg glaze. (Can be prepared 6 hrs. ahead, covered and refrigerated.) Bake until Brie is golden, about 18 minutes.
