Wrap, Wrap, Wrap, A-round The Clock!

The holidays are upon us and what would the holiday season be without a few beautifully wrapped presents?

As we have mentioned before, our favorite place to shop for gift wrap, both the paper and the ribbon, is Costco.   Costco seems to have a great assortment and also, the prices are the very best!   At $7.99 for a 50 foot roll of ribbon and $9.99 for a large roll of wrapping paper, you can’t beat it.

You will find great reds

and greens

and golds

or blues

and silvers

to help you with whatever holiday you are wrapping for.

Tissue paper can be found at Costco as well.  Honestly, Costco is the best!  You cannot beat it!  But don’t delay as they do sell out.

Be sure, when you are wrapping, to put your all into it.  A beautiful presentation says so much to the receiver.  Even if the gift is very small, in value, make it absolutely beautiful to present.  If you do not feel you can make a huge bow with lots of ribbon in it, tie a flower from your garden into a plain bow.  Really easy but says a lot!

One other thing you should not delay in buying at this time of year is Christmas crackers.  You can make your own, and we will be showing you how to do this in a few weeks, but if you do want to buy them, now is the time.  Crackers were invented by a gentleman called Thomas Smith in 1846 in England.  They started as bon bons wrapped in paper twisted at both ends.  Smith decided that he would put a motto in the wrapping of the sweet and, since most of the bon bons were bought by gentlemen to give to ladies, many of the mottos were love poems.   After a while he added the banger, two pieces of chemically impregnated paper which made a loud noise when pulled apart.  And hats – ah yes, no cracker is complete without a crown! And thus, we have our crackers.  At every Christmas table in England, you will find crackers – just part of the Christmas tradition and, oh, what fun they bring!

Be sure to bring the best present of all where ever you go this holiday season – LOVE!    You are the wrapping for love – make sure your family and friends can feel what is inside!

With our love to you,

You sure do a lovely gift package my dear Jackie! The only problem is that our family doesn’t “do” Christmas gifts. We just can’t stand those malls and the traffic and all that money spent. I guess I really am a scrooge!
