You’ve Got A Place At The Table

Header
We think a place card of any kind sends the message “We planned on you coming to join us. We’re glad you are here!” We’ve got some creative ways to send that message 🙂

If you’re a regular visitor with us here at Two Chums, you know we love place cards and the idea of seating  people at our gatherings.  So today we have a few new ways to make fun and creative “place cards” for your Thanksgiving dinner.  These are simple to make, use inexpensive and easily accessible materials, and will surely make your dinner party lovely.

!. A pomegranate makes a real statement when you place it on the center of a plate. Use a paint pen to apply the name of the person whose seat it is.

2. Add a little sparkle to the table.  Use a small twig from any tree or bush, apply spray glue you can buy at the craft store and roll it in a copper colored glitter.  Tie on a name tag with pretty ribbon. Simple and lovely.

3. Any piece of fruit with a stem can become your place card holder.  Simple tie a name tag to the stem with a pretty piece of ribbon, and you have both a fun place card AND an after dinner snack!

4. A simple piece of card stock cut with decorative edged scissors can have a name written on it and be easily embellished with stick-on paper flowers.  These happen to have come from Michaels in a package of 6 flowers for $1.50.  These are so simple you can even let your little ones help you make them 🙂

5. Maybe the simplest and certainly the most economical place card is a beautiful leaf with  a name written on it with a colorful Sharpie pen or even two pens and two colors.

You could pick one of these ideas and do all the place cards the same, OR use all these ideas at different places to add some variety to your table.  Either way we think having family and friends around your table this Thanksgiving can only lead to more love, more joy and a much more abundant life!

I make large acorn gingerbread cookies and write the person’s name on it as a “placecard.” Sorry no pictures, the cookies have yet to be baked!

What a wonderful idea Robin! I am not the one who entertains but I’ll pass this on to my gourmet brother Eric who does put name tags at the dinner table for a party. Just in time for our Thanksgiving Day table in Orlando. And let me say how thankful I am for you and sweet Jackie for bringing us these Two Chums LIFTS. They do uplift & inspire us. You ladies give so much to all who your lives touch, mine included.
    Have a very blessed Thanksgiving.
