What A Royal Pair!….

….at least your Two Chums think so!  We love all the Royals and love to hear about what they are doing but….. Catherine and William stand out!  Catherine has certainly taken her role as the future king of England’s wife full on.  She is proving to the world that she is willing to learn the ropes and, obviously, has great respect for the weighty family she has joined.

Just recently, they were in Asia representing the Queen in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year.  When news broke that a French magazine had printed photographs of Catherine and William sunbathing in Provence, Catherine being topless, it could have interrupted their Asian tour terrifically but, Catherine and William chose the high road and did not let it interfere.  They went on with huge smiles on their faces, “keeping calm and carrying on”!  To them, they were on an important mission for the Queen and they were not going to let anything spoil it.

The Royal couple were staying at Viscount Linley’s (Princess Margaret and Tony Armstrong Jones’ son) home in Provence, France when a photographer shot, from at least half a mile away, some photographs of them sunbathing on a patio.  Obviously, they thought they were alone, a husband and his wife, in the privacy of a home, and were not  doing anything wrong!  What an invasion of privacy!  They did file suit and won which tells the paparazzi “thus far and no farther”!

It was rather ironic, actually, as a couple of days after this news broke, they were in the Solomon Islands and were greeted by topless ladies – obviously their national dress and certainly NOT scandalous.

We are so glad to see that William and Catherine want to keep their standards high and, while we do love to see what they are up to in their public lives, they should certainly be allowed to have a private lives as well.

While being a Prince and Princess comes with many, many wonderful privileges, it comes also with a great deal of responsibility and challenges.
