Thanks to Lifemix.today, we have some great Savvy Secrets for you – all about keeping clean!

Lemon-and-Water-in-the-Microwave1.Pour boiling water over lemons in a microwave-safe bowl, and cook in the microwave for five minutes. The steam will loosen any particles in the microwave so you can easily wipe it down; plus the lemons make it smell great.

Lingerie-Bag

2.Lingerie bags are great for two things. First, put Lego or other similar toys that can get grimy and gross in the lingerie bag and throw it in the wash cycle for a good clean. Second, use a lingerie bag for socks! Keep one by your regular laundry hamper to throw your dirty socks in and when it is time to clean them you won’t lose any socks and they will be much easier to match up again.

Add-Vinegar-to-Your-Laundry

3. Add half a cup of white vinegar to every load of laundry to eliminate odors.

Old-Dryer-Sheets-on-Baseboards

4. Use old dryer sheets to wipe down baseboards. Since they are anti-static they will stay dust free longer.

Dishwasher-for-Cleaning-Toys

5. Use your dishwasher to wash bigger plastic toys. Just place the toys on the top rack of the dishwasher and wash as you normally would. If you have smaller toys that you want to throw in the dishwasher instead of the washing machine (see #2) just put the lingerie bag full of toys in the dishwasher. The lingerie bag will keep smaller toys from landing on the heating coils while being cleaned.

Aluminum-Foil-for-Dryer-Sheets

6. If you aren’t a fan of dryer sheets because of the smell or the residue they leave you can use balls of aluminum foil to eliminate static cling instead. Just roll up about two feet of foil into a ball and throw it in the dryer. Use two or three balls for heavy loads. The best thing is you don’t have to replace them!

Salt-to-Clean-an-Iron

7. Remove sticky residue on your iron with salt. Simply turn the iron onto the hottest setting without steam and run it over salt sprinkled on paper or a cotton towel.

Clean-Showerheads-Overnight

8. Your shower head is prone to a buildup of all kinds of stuff. To clean it, just tie a bag of vinegar around the shower head and leave it to soak overnight.

Clean-Blinds-with-an-Old-Sock

9.  Mix equal parts warm water and vinegar in a bowl. Slip an old sock on over your hand and dip it in the solution. Wipe all the grime and dust off the blinds. When the sock gets too dirty just rinse it off in water and continue cleaning.

Usa-an-Iron-to-Remove-Carpet-Stains

10.  Mix one part vinegar with two parts water in a spray bottle and spray the stain. Next, place a damp cloth over the stain. Use the steam setting on the iron and iron the spot for about 30 seconds. For seriously tough stains, repeat the steps.
