Savvy Secrets From The Experts

Who better than the experts?   Thanks to Trending Moms, here are some “clever cleaning tricks”.1.   Pick up pet hair with rubber gloves.

Pets shed off a lot of hair all year round. Picking it up with your bare hands can be a hassle. Next time try putting on a pair of rubber gloves and slightly damped with water. Pet hair should stick to the gloves like a magnet, making cleaning up pet hair a breeze!

2.  Remove toilet bowl stain with a pumice stone.

Pumice stones are easy to find. They are sold in local hardware stores. Alternatively, you may also use duct tape and vinegar, but that technique takes longer and is messier. Opt for pumice stones that come with a handle to easily remove stains in and around your toilet.

3.  Clean shower head with vinegar.

Fill a plastic bag with vinegar. Make sure to add enough vinegar to fully submerge your shower head in vinegar. Use a rubber band or string to tie the bag onto your shower head and let it sit overnight. The next morning your shower head should be clean as new!

4.  Remove water rings with a hair dryer.

Here is a simple solution to the annoying water rings on your wooden table. Grab your trusty hair dryer and plug it in to “blow dry” the water rings away. It should disappear within 15 minutes. After drying, apply some olive oil to moisturize your furniture.

5.  Deep clean oven with kitchen ingredients.

This is a simple solution for your worst nightmare, a dirty oven! To clean the dirty grime off your oven, grab some baking soda and vinegar. Mix them in a bowl in equal parts. This should create a strong solution that you can use to wipe your oven clean.

6.  Polish stainless steel with cream of tartar.

Mix 1 tablespoon cream of tartar with a few drops of water. Rub the mixture onto the appliance with a clean sponge. Finally, clean it all off with a damp paper towel.

7.  Use lemons to clean microwave oven.

Put 500ml water with lemons in a microwaveable glass bowl. Microwave on high for 5 minutes. Leave it inside until the liquid cools down. This will create condensation which will loosen the caked on food inside your microwave. This will also deodorize your microwave. Finally wipe clean with a paper towel.

8.  Clean glass cooktop with vinegar.

Spray your stove top with a 1:1 mixture of vinegar and water. Let it sit for a couple of minutes and wipe it down with a clean rag or towel.

9.  Use lint rollers to clean lampshades and pillows.

Lint rollers are not just for clothes. You can also use them for household items that accumulate dust such as lampshades and pillows. Use a lint roller the same way you would use it on clothes to clean your lamp shades, pillows, and anything else that’s dusty around the house.

10.  Get stains off your microfiber couch with rubbing alcohol.

Fill a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol and spray it on your dirty microfiber couch. Scrub with a clean brush and ta-da! Your couch should be as good as new.
