Mother’s Day Lemonade

cherry lemonade 2
Every mother will tell you that what is most important is that whatever her children or grandchildren do for her, or make for her, that it is done with love.  If it happens to be sweet, refreshing, delicious and lovely to look at…well, all the better 🙂My eight year old granddaughter, Sadie Rae, has come up with her own recipe for making sweet and delicious cherry lemonade.  She loves to make it for special occasions and plans to make it for her mother
(my daughter, Sara) for Mother’s Day.  She enlisted the help of her brother and two of her cousins to show you how she does it.

This REALLY is delicious lemonade whether you add the cherries and cherry juice or not.  And as you can see, it is truly simple enough for a child to make…they will no doubt do it with lots of love and will feel great satisfaction and joy when they see the happy smiles on everyone’s faces…especially the one on their Mommy’s face 🙂

You will be amazed at how a little glass of fresh, sweet, homemade lemonade can bring so much love, so much joy, and make life feel so sweet and abundant.  Happy Mother’s Day!

(and for Jackie too!)
After they finished making their how-to lemonade video, the children took the sidewalk and sold their lemonade to continue raising money for their World Vision Project.

My youngest granddaughter, Ashton, was under the weather when other children made and sold their lemonade.  But they saved her a glass and from her expression you can see how much she enjoyed it too!

Sadie’s Homemade Cherry Lemonade

1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (this is approximate) or the juice of about 7 lemons
1 cup sugar
4 cups water
1 small jar maraschino cherries or 1/2 cup Rose’s Grenadine syrup (optional)
Lots of ice

Squeeze lemons and add sugar.  Stir to dissolve.  Add water and the cherries and juice, if using.  Pour over glasses filled with ice.  Take a long cool sip and enjoy 🙂
