Last Minute Gift ideas

Christmas is one week from today.  Are there still people on your list that you just can’t figure out what the right gift would be…an uncle, a grandfather, a niece or nephew? We have some ideas. Is there someone who has everything and you wonder  what could you give them that would be special or meaningful for them?  Or maybe your budget is wearing thin and you still have teachers or neighbors, the postman or gardener or babysitter you want to remember…we have some ideas for those gifts too.Gifts you make that taste so yummy are always appropriate and while they  actually cost very little, they  show your love and care because they are gifts that tap your most precious resource… your time.  Here are some ideas for homemade treats anyone would be happy to receive.

English Toffee

Caramel Corn

A Jar of Homemade Fudge Sauce

Homemade Raspberry Jam

We all have that person on our list who just plain has everything.  We want to give them something meaningful, but what?  We have an idea for you.  These two precious children, Jeremy and Sadie, decided to give up their own gifts this Christmas and Hanukkah so that the money that would have been spent on gifts for them can be used to help children and families less fortunate.  They took it a step further and set up a website with a goal of raising $20,000.  You can make a donation on their website by buying a goat or some chickens or other farm animals that will be given to families across the world to improve their lives.  Or donate towards a clean water well that will help to keep children and their parents healthy.  Who wouldn’t feel good about having a donation made in his or her name to this wonderful cause.  It is a win/win/ win.  You win by giving a great gift/ the person whose name the donation is made in, feels good so they win / and most importantly, a child or family who is in need wins.  What could be better than that?

Have a child on your list that you just can’t figure out what gift would be right?  Here are some ideas.

There isn’t a child anywhere that doesn’t love a stuffed toy and this is, by definition, the World’s Cutest Dog.  Don’t know a child that can resist this adorable little stuffed dog.

Books truly are the gift that keeps on giving.  A classic book can be read over and over and over and be a treasure a child takes into adulthood.  We have some we have loved since we were children and have a list of suggestions for you here.

Some Great Children’s Books

Who doesn’t enjoy swinging?  Children of all ages love to sail through the air like a bird in a swing floating on a breeze.  You’ll wish you had one too 🙂

Need a quick and inexpensive hostess gift or teacher gift?  In minutes, and for literally pennies, you can make some beautifully scented bath salts.  Everyone loves a good soak.

Men can be the hardest to shop for sometimes, but these are some ideas that don’t cost a lot but are useful and helpful.  Of course most men love anything they can eat, so you might want to think about that option as well.

Golf glove, Fogless Shower Shaving Mirror, Tool Belt

We can all feel stressed and frustrated when we are stumped by that one or two (or five) people we just can’t seem to find the right thing for.  Don’t let yourself lose your joy as you are trying to finish up your list.   The most important thing in your gift giving is that whatever you decide to give, you do it with love.  At Christmas we remember the greatest gift ever given…God gave us His son…He gave us His love.  Remember to give with joy and to give with love and your life will always be abundant 🙂
