Celebrate!

On March 8 every year, a lot of our world celebrates International Women’s Day.  Clearly initiated as a feminist movement, it continues that way but Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, the wife of the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, wants to be sure that she celebrates it with “her man”.

In other words, she wants to make it clear that both women and men are important.  What a great slant on things.  Your Two Chums certainly would agree with her on this point.

Mrs. Trudeau says, “As we mark International Women’s Day, let’s celebrate the boys and men in our lives who encourage us to be who we truly are, who treat girls & women with respect,” Sophie Gregoire Trudeau wrote on her Instagram account.

She posted a photo of herself and her husband — who proudly declares himself a feminist — showing them holding hands and gazing into each other’s eyes.

But, she certainly set off a stream of loud comments by hard lined feminists who claim that it should NOT be a day about men.

We say let’s celebrate the joy, let’s celebrate the love, let’s celebrate the abundance in our lives.  Let’s ALL celebrate, men and women!  Let’s all celebrate each other.
