At 96!

After a lifetime of public service by the side of his wife Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip finally retired on Wednesday at the age of 96.

The Duke of Edinburgh attended a parade of Royal Marines at Buckingham Palace, the last of 22,219 solo public engagements since Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne in 1952.

Known for his brash sense of humour which has often put him in the limelight, Prince Philip has been the Queen’s mainstay throughout their marriage.  There is no doubt that she adores her husband and relies on him for a lot.

We have no doubt that we will see a lot more of Prince Philip – just not in his usual capacity.

Well done, Prince Philip!
