All Wrapped Up

Years ago Jackie and I had a shop called Chums.  You may have noticed on 0ur current logo for Two Chums that it says Est. 1987.   That is when we first opened our business.   We always said it was “a little shop where you could find all you need for giving”.

We thoroughly enjoyed the years that we had that little shop and all the wonderful people who came in to visit us and buy gifts for people they loved. We never thought of our business as just…well…a business.  We didn’t just have customers, we had ‘friends’ who trusted us to help them find just the right thing to celebrate those special people in their lives.  We took that job seriously and wanted to provide the best service possible to those who came into our little shop.

A big part of giving the best service was to provide beautiful wrapping for the gifts people bought from us.  There were times when we did what is known as a “bag wrap”…putting the item in a pretty bag with lots of tissue and a big bow.  But we only used that method if for some reason we didn’t have the right box for an item.  When we did wrap things in a box it was always done in the colors of our logo back then ~ glossy forest green paper and a rose pink ribbon.  It was classic and really striking and people came to us as much for the beautiful wrapping as they did for the things they bought.

So as a result of our little shop, Chums, Jackie and I became very skilled at wrapping gifts….and we still love doing it.  It delights us to make a present for someone as pretty as it can possibly be, and to see the looks of joy on the faces of those who receive them.

Regardless of the contents of a gift or its monetary value, when you take the time to make the effort to present your gift in a lovely way, anyone receiving it will feel special.  They will feel you sharing with them your love, joy and desire for abundant living 🙂
